"PERFECTION" is the word that comes to mind when I think about the "Forgotten Coast". We are blessed with an abundance of blue skies and sunshine and comfortable temperatures year round. On St. George Island, we've got the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico lapping at the sand to our south and the Class II environmentally protected waters of the Aplachicola Bay to our north; home to the "World Famous" Apalachicola Bay Oysters.

My husband Bob & I made a trip to Pensacola and traveled the US Hwy 98 route along the coastline; hitting every beach West of St. George Island and Apalachicola. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! In most cases you can’t see the water and beach from the road! The coastline is inundated with high-rise condominiums and expansive hotels, strip malls and novelty shops. We had to plan our trip accordingly to avoid the bumper to bumper traffic which begins around lunchtime and doesn’t end until after dark. We didn’t stop to eat knowing that the wait would be a minimum of 20 minutes. We made our way as quickly as possible, trying not to gape at the never-ending construction and crowds of people…we were glad to know that our trip was a short one and that we’d be back to our peaceful solitude soon!

If you haven’t visited the “Forgotten Coast”  then you may not know what we’re all about!  We offer what others don’t…quiet uncrowded beaches to walk, small beach shops to frequent, family owned restaurants to enjoy, pristine waters to fish or swim, nostalgic sleepy towns to explore, peaceful rivers and tributaries to paddle, abundant wildlife to watch, sunsets and stars to view (without the glare of streetlights) and just plain old relaxation known as “island time” where actual time doesn’t matter in the least…

Does this sound good to you? Then come visit! I’d love to show you why it might be right for you to make this area a permanent part of your life!

Give me a call; I’d love to hear from you!  Kara
